Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 March 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Aplio (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Aplio (“we”, “us”).

2. Description of Service

Aplio is an AI-assisted job application tool that helps you draft cover letters, manage applications, and parse job listings. The Service uses Google OAuth to authenticate users and, with your permission, accesses Gmail to read job recommendation emails and send cover letters on your behalf.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Aplio you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Account and access

  • You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure.
  • You may revoke Aplio’s access to your Gmail at any time via your Google Account permissions.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Send spam, misleading, or fraudulent emails through the Service
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service’s APIs
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it

6. Free and Pro plans

Free plan: Subject to usage limits (currently 5 sent emails per month). Limits may change with reasonable notice.

Pro plan: Billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months, except where required by law (including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 for New Zealand users).

7. AI-generated content

Content generated by the Service (cover letters, CV text, etc.) is produced by AI and may contain inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before sending it to employers. We make no warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

8. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you provide (profile data, job descriptions, etc.). You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Service. We retain all rights in the Aplio platform, design, and software.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will help you secure employment.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost employment opportunities or reputational harm resulting from AI-generated content. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under New Zealand consumer law.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your data and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.
